A meeting of E-hailing service drivers is underway at Maponya Mall in Soweto following last night’s attack on some of their vehicles allegedly by taxi drivers.

Taxi drivers have allegedly attacked and burnt cars belonging to Bolt and Uber drivers outside Maponya Mall in Soweto. Two other cars were also set alight. The motive for the attacks is unknown, but tensions have been running high between the transport operators. In videos shared on social media overnight, gunshots can be heard, while some people appear to be assaulted. Newzroom Afrika has reached out to the police and there has been no response as yet.
